meets in Rome, the
city in which shorthand (mother of all the fast writing techniques) emerged
from philosophical elaborations and became a practical tool for handing down
events for posterity. This is a very important meeting in the history of this
Organization, which marks the beginning of a renaissance from speed writings
to multimedia reporting.
A new Congress formula, new trends for the future, new nations joining
and willing to hold the next meetings, the possibility to ascertain the level
of integration between computerization and human abilities, and the
undeniable charm of the town are the plus factors that will make this
An international competition on keyboard writing via Internet, devoted
to young students, will lead to the event.

The Congress activities will take place at the Sheraton Congress Center
at EUR, an imposing district of Roma, plentiful with parks, fountains, modern
houses, and office buildings.
A Metro connection lasting only
15 minutes links to the historical center and Termini station.
The building in which the speech writing competitions will take
place is very near the Congress Center (as shown in the map here below)
and will be connected by a bus-shuttle during the competition day.
